Escaflowne the Movie is pretty much the VOE series (visions of escaflowne) its just got some charactor changes and a few new twists in the story line. lets give you the low on the charactors then its pretty much a walk in the park from there. hitome is mostly the same high school student track team all that good stuff but when she blmbs on a raceshe gets depressed and starts to wish as she says to "fade away" Van is a little diffrent clothes wise you'll see what i mean if you know the VOE and the movie he's a little more aggresive and shut down at first but he opens up in time he's still van of Fanalia. Allan is still allan he's just the leader or comander of the Abaharaki (the group is just a diffrent version of the knights caeli for you VOE lovers) allan is calm and determined he's still got a wierd friendship with Van and a strange trust. Merl is Merl nothing more nothing less she's vans friend and still an annoying little cat girl. Folken is the head bad guy this time and the leader of the Black Dragon Empire, though Issiac's head does make an appearance in somebody's dream. Dilandau is a dragon slayer witha small amount of linage fromt he dragon clan he is under Folkens command. Sora is a fairy like girl that has a kind of site along with other strange powers she has a stronge loyalty to folken. Jajuka is still with dilandau his reasons for serving are his own *cough cough revenge cough cough). Millerna is not a princess in this version but a LT under Allan she doesnt have a big part in this. Dryden is still a merchent he's on allans side but he isnt with Millerna again not to much of a part in this.
Ok so now that we have i think all of them lets get to it the story starts off with van killing some soldiers after getting onto a enemy blimp like thing and getting to the escaflowne at the same time we see ukari and hitome. ukari finds hitome's suicide note and laughs at it sayign she had better not leave her such a poorly written note if she was really going to do it. ukari knew she wouldnt and hitome addmits she wont that she was too much of a wuss folken calls out to her through these feelings of depression and pulls her into his world calling her the wing goddess... but somthing happens and when she comes she doesnt go to him but insted she goes to van and when he gets to the escaflowne she falls out at his feet but while he is speeking to her and calling her the wing goddess the escaflowne is engulfed in a red light and turns into a small jewl that goes to her then van turns against her but allan saves the day by "calming" him down in that weird way.. ok a few throwing knives later heh hitome faints and walks up on a vehicle she doesnt recognize as anything she is used to and finds that she is on her way to torushina to meet with some guy named dryden but they are attacked by dilandau and his gang they get her and try to take her back to folken but van saves her but at a high cost he is badly wounded and has to be taken to adom village where merl is from they tend to his wounds and they set out later on but only to face more fighting and new fates and realizations hitome learns new things and gains a new outlook on life its self i wont tell you how it ends but i will tell you its worth buying and its leaves you wondering but still fullfilled with all you need to know in the end happy watching!
