Hellsing
I bought Hellsing on a risk, I had no idea what it was like other than it included vampires. Man was I ever glad I bought this, I got the whole series in a matter of a month or two. So, here goes. Hellsing takes place in England, well, London to be precise, there exists an orginization called "The Hellsing Orginization" It was started by who else? The Hellsing family who have been in the business of hunting vampires for generations. This is a small tribute to the original vampire flicks, with the Van Helsing family, who of course, hunted Dracula. The series starts off with the leader of the Hellsing Org. getting information on a vampire that's been masquerading as a preist, killing most everything in his path. The police have already engaged the vampire, and they all were killed and turned into ghouls. But one has escaped, this is our firt meeting of Seras Victora(yes, you can spell her name other ways, but thats not the point). While running from the ghouls who were her freinds, she meets Alucard, the Hellsing Org's personal vampire, and vampire hunter. He's sorta like an aristocrat among vampires, he seems to really enjoy killing other vampires that act like, to quote him, "scum." Well, Seras gets frigtened by him and runs off, find a chruch, and guess who's there? The vampire preist that Alucard is after. So Alucard shows up, peist blasts him to bits, he regenerates, and in order to kill the preist he had to kill Seras too, and how does he save her? By making her a vampire. So now we've get this wussy girl who really didnt want to be a vampire, and so some of the series goes on to deal with that.
Well, it seems Alucard has a nemesis, an Alexander Anderson, a freaky preist with the power to regernate. Anderson is one of the best characters in the show, he's got a great accent, and does all kinda of cool tricks with swords and stuff. Well Andreson works for the Vatican, Special Section XIII(13) and the Vatican hates the Hellsing Org because, being the Vatican, they think they should run the world. SO now we've got more conflict, which makes this series great, all the violence and bloodshed. The sorta "final boss" is another of the original undead, like Alucard(note, Alucard id Dracula spelt backwards). This guy is named Incognito, though I dont know how you could miss him, it's a 7 foot tall nude guy in a trenchcoat. He's proly not the bst way yo end the series, but it made for some great violence anda cool fight scene, well, I wont tell you how, but Alucard wins, of course, Seras sorta comes to terms with her being a vampire, and the Hellsing Org is pretty much destroyed, but for the very end, you gotta watch and see!!
So, now for some typical review stuff, this a great series, the animation is sharp and smooth, the voice acting is really good, but not some of the best I've heard, the subs are awful though, spelling errors everywhere. The plot is realtivly sound, it's good but there is no backstory for Incognito, though it's explained in the manga, but they left a few things out, so overall, prolly an 8.5/10 cuse it really lacks in some places. But if your looking for gore, bloodshead, and all around good times with lots of death, I highly reccomend this series.
