Escaflowne is a great series, in my opinion. I liked the story line and art. It's a great action show with good fight scenes and romance, and of course its a fantasy. Its about a teenaged girl named Hitome Kanzaki. Hitome is a runner on her school's track team and very smart, she also has a nack for fortune telling by tarot cards. This is of course leaving out the magic neckless... anyways. during her first run int he school day she got a premenition and faints the premenition was about a boy...
Her secret love, whom is also on the track team, Amano, is moving away and she asks one last thing."dont think less of me... but.. if I can brake 13 seconds.. would you... would you give me my first kiss?" (or somthing like that...) her best friend Ukari also comes after finding out and turns on the lights on the track while rooting her friend on silently. But in the middle of her run the boy from her premenition appeared in a flash of blue light shining down in a beam from the sky. Amano is confused and when he appears he confronts him right away. Hitome has an idea of who he is but is in no way prepared for what happens next. he screams a warning for them to run before the dragon comes. but its too late a skeptic Amano, Ukari and Hitome meet face to face with a real land dragon coming through a portal right before them. All three
of them but the boy from another world, as Hitome states, runs but Ukari spranes her ankle and to their dissmay the dragon zero's in on them, both the boy and the dragon follow. After a seemingly short fight and the use of Hitome's site power, the boy from another world wins. He then introduces himself arrogantly as Prince Van Fenal Of Finalia. His high hoarse attatude and lack of thanks angers Hitome and in the middle of her yelling at him, again the beam of blue light comes down and carries both of them away leading her into a world of Gaia. she meets a whole new cast of people and is thrown in the middle of a world at war its everyone against the Zibach Empire. Hitome has a strange gift and it is used on both sides, seemingly through the power of her jewl neckless given to her by her granmother, Unbeknownced to them. Voughn slowly opens up and turns out to be a very loved charactor. Also coming into the story are main charactors allen, merl and folken, folken has a wird part and is.. well you'll see. Now I started you off going through the first episode and giving you a little insite. I might have gone to far but they dont play it anymore and you would have to buy it to see it so I want to make sure you like it... If you like what you've heard so far then I dont think you will be dissapointed in the least in the rest of the story. All in all the story is great and the charactors are perfect in my opinion of course. Great battles great tie ins, you'll see what I mean. ok I wont go any farther you need to watch the rest. Enjoy!
