Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040
One of the best shows I've seen in quite a while, in my standards it's right up there with Evangelion and something else I cant quite think of.  Anyway, the basic storyline is still the same as the original BGC only now the enemy is the Monolithic Genom corporation, which is responsible for all Boomer production.  Boomers are basically near-sentient living machines, but they have a tendancy to go rouge, which is they go beserk, much like EVA 01 in NGE, and destroy lots of stuff.  Enter the Knight Sabers.  A group of 3(soon to be 4) women with super-powered battle armor, called Harduits, who go out and destroy these rouge boomers.  Now, you will notice that are both Boomers and Voomers.  Boomers are basically heay-labor  while Voomers are more inteligent, and look more like humans.  Anyway, things dont really pick up for about the first 8 episodes(damn thats practically 1/2 the series!) but dont worry, like NGE almost every other episode is action packed, and then the others are filled with plot.
Anyway about episode 15 we see the emergence of Galetea( Gah lah tee uh) or(Gal uh teh uh) depending on if you want to pronounce it their way or mine.  Anyway, we find out that galetea is a sort of Doppleganger of Sylia, and so is Mackie Sylia's "younger brother."  Sylia's father was pretty much nuts and completly obsessed with his boomer project and used Sylia as a base for the growth of the first two boomers, Mackie and Galetea.  Mackie came out being too "human" so he was "scrapped" and Galetea became Doctor Stingray's new prize, she was mostly human, but had the power to make boomers go rouge, which is actually just breaking the limits imposed upon them by a small amount of core material.  Galetea ends up merging with the Genom tower and then nearly destroying all life on earth, that or converting it into boomers.  Suprisingly enough, the girl you think would be the main character, Linna, dose not save the day, it turns out to be Priss who defeats galetea with the Help of who else? The Motoslave.  In the end, the world is saved you see all the Knight Sabers but Sylia nude, and the end.  It has a very interesting ending, I'll leave it to you to see it for yourself and make your own decisions on it.  But overall if want you wanted to know was "Is it worth buying?" then yes, it is an awesome series, and is definately worth buying, and you dont even need to see the original before-hand, they are totally seperate!

So go out and enjoy this superb anime!
