Ah/Oh! My Goddess!
Oh My Goddess! is a short, five episode anime about a normal college guy called Keiichi who just happens to call upon a goddess...
Keiichi is a really nice guy, and maybe that’s why when calling for takeout one night, he dials the wrong number and the goddess Belldandy appears to grant him one single wish. So what better wish then for a goddess to be with him always? A sweet and funny series that absolutely anyone can enjoy.
Created after the manga, the short OMG anime does not cover the other supernatural troubles the hero goes though, but concentrates on Belldandy and Keiichi's relationship. True love, however isn't always as easy as it seems, and Belldandy's sisters as well as meddlesome humans are more then ready to create trouble for Keiichi. Once the contract of his wish is finalized, Kei and Belldandy cannot me separated and get kicked out of his dorm because it doesn't allow women. In an ordeal to find a new place to stay, the two move into an abandoned temple.
Belldandy is a wonderful person and Keiichi soon starts to fall for her but bunches of obsiticles soon arise, including Bell's sister, Urd. She seems to think that their relationship should be going faster then it is, taking it upon herself to speed it up, and getting stranded on Earth in the process. As if two goddesses are not enough, the youngest of the goddess sisters, Skuld, appears at the temple. All that’s left is for the universe to go haywire which doesn’t fail to happen when mysterious disturbances try to take Bell and Keiichi apart!
OMG is truly a bittersweet anime that will have you laughing one minute and teary-eyed the next. There really is something for everyone: a lovable guy, three beautiful goddesses, Keiichi's motor club, crazy classmates, and a great love story. One can instantly fall in love with the angelic Belldandy, or be impressed by the rest of the characters. In the end, it’s about how far true love can go, with lots of great moments in the process. For those looking for action and adventure, I would suggest that you try another anime. However, if you want to see a sweet romantic comedy that would appeal to both sexes, Oh My Goddess is your story.
