Keiichi Morisato: Keiichi is a timid college student, motorcycle fanatic and an all-out nice guy with no girlfriend. While taking calls for his upperclassmen, he accidentally calls the Goddess Office and the beautiful goddess Belldandy appears out of a mirror to grant any wish that he wants! Thinking a joke is being played on him, Keiichi wished for Belldandy to stay with him forever. Despite later problems, Keiichi is a sincere, honest and understanding guy that deeply loves Belldandy and tends to take a lot of beatings from his friends and her sisters.
Belldandy: A beautiful, kind and sweet first class goddess send to Earth to grant Keiichi's wish, only to end up falling in love herself. Belldandy is basically the perfect goddess, understanding, sensitive and fond of cooking and cleaning. She has many powers and can move through mirrors but can only use a little bit of her strength at a time, otherwise she has to sleep in order to recharge. Belldandy has two sisters, Skuld and Urd.
Urd: Belldandy's older more lustrous sister that comes to earth in order to get Keiichi and Belldandy to connect. Urd is loud, impatient and somewhat dangerous with her love potions, but she means well. She can move through TV's and tends to be more scantly clad then her sisters.
Skuld: Belldandy's youngest sister that comes to earth looking for her sisters. Skuld is much younger then both of them, but her lack of power covered by her incredible mechanical skills. She can build almost anything, and is the system debugger for Yggdrasil. However, Skuld's still a kid that misses her sister so she tends to be a bit difficult at times, though just like Urd, she means well. Skuld can move through hot water and has a grudge against Keiichi for taking away her beloved sister Belldandy.
Sayoko: Keiichi's popular, rich and snobby classmate. She becomes interested in Keiichi just because he has someone like Belldandy, and likes to get what she wants. Sayoko hangs around with her handsome and equally snobby cousin, Aoshima.
Tamiya and Otaki: Keiichi's loud, big and goofy upperclassman. Tamiya is dark-haired, while Otaki is blond and has a surfer accent. Both of them can seem a bit intimidating and difficult to live with since they're also members of Keiichi's motor club, but even though they tend to cause trouble for Keiichi, they're good friends.
Megumi Morisato: Keiichi's little sister, who comes to study at Nekomi Tech University.
Sora Hasegawa: Another of Keiichi’s classmates. Sora is timid and quiet but has a good heart.
